| CURRENT LINE-UP Bassist Twiggy Ramirez (real name: Jeordie White) has rejoined MARILYN MANSON for the group's upcoming North American tour. Joining Manson and Twiggy on stage for the U.S. leg of the "Rape of the World Tour" will be Chris Vrenna, Rob Holliday, and Ginger Fish. Tim Skold has amicably split with Manson, but future collaborations aren't being ruled out between the two. Legendary Finnish rockers HANOI ROCKS will end their working relationship with their current drummer Kari "Lacu" Lahtinen. Lacu will leave the band after HANOI ROCKS' European tour, which kicks off on February 14 in Stockholm, Sweden and concludes at the Astoria in London, England on March 7. The change behind the drum kit will not affect the forthcoming HANOI ROCKS gigs or tours. The new HANOI ROCKS drummer will be announced soon. William Morris Agency has released a brand new photo (mirror) of the reunited WARRANT, featuring the group's original frontman Jani Lane. Although WARRANT has yet to officially confirm that it is once again working with Lane or to announce its 2008 touring plans, it is widely believed that the band will take part in this year's Rocklahoma festival — which will be held July 11- 13, 2008 at the Catch The Fever Festival Grounds, four miles north of Pryor, Oklahoma. NEGATIVE's longtime guitarist Sir Christus is no longer in the band, Negative will start recording their fourth album as a five-piece. “We decided that it’s best to continue without Sir Christus. This is not a hasty decision, we’ve talked about this many times and this is really the best thing for all of us. There’s no hard feelings on either side”, says lead singer Jonne Aaron. A new guitarist has not yet been named. |

| IN THE NEWS DROWNING POOL's EQUIPMENT RIPPED OFF AGAIN Jay Gormley of CBS 11 News reports: Music equipment is everything to a rock band. But one Dallas band has felt the sting of having its equipment stolen not once, but twice in one month. "We always joke that DROWNING POOL has a black cloud that follows us," said Mike Luce, the band's drummer. The holidays have been anything but happy for the alternative- metal band. On the day before Thanksgiving, cameras caught thieves stealing the band's amplifiers and other valuable sound equipment. "I think someone has a target aimed right at us. We're in the crosshairs," said bassist Stevie Benton. Convinced that the thieves focused on them alone, DROWNING POOL moved the rest of their gear from a rehearsal studio in North Dallas to Public Storage just a block away. But as bad luck would have it, lighting would strike twice exactly one month later. "I got here and saw it was cut, and then I opened the door up and literally started crying," said guitarist C.J. Pierce. Thieves didn't cut the lock. Instead, they cut the metal that runs through the lock. This time, they got away with much more than just amplifiers. "They mean a lot more to me than a P.A. cabinet. My bass guitars are extremely personal, and I would love to have them back," said Benton. DROWNING POOL lost two Basson speaker cabinets, four Lakland bass guitars, two Kustom '72 Coupe amplifiers, one D.W. drum kit and other equipment. But this time, there were no cameras to catch the crime. "Money doesn't grow on trees. We're now with our third singer, and we're just getting by as it is," said Pierce. "Who has the money to go out and buy all this gear? It's a lot of gear, and it costs a lot of money." The band moved what little gear they had left to another storage facility. This time, they say they are going to keep the location a secret. |
| The band is asking anyone with information about the stolen gear to contact the Dallas police department or send an email through the band's MySpace page. MARILYN MANSON SAYS LED ZEPPELIN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR REUNION WITH TWIGGY Taking a page from the Van Halen playbook, it was announced yesterday that Marilyn Manson and longtime collaborator guitarist Twiggy Ramirez would reunite for Manson’s Eat Me, Drink Me tour. Rock Daily talked to Manson hours after the announcement, and he shared the story behind their reunion. Though the two had already re-connected during a chance meeting on the streets of Los Angeles, it was Manson witnessing another reunion that inspired him to invite Twiggy back. “The turning point for me was when I went to see Led Zeppelin’s reunion show, and I saw Jimmy Page and Robert Plant look at each other for a moment, and they probably said, ‘Holy shit, we wrote ‘Stairway To Heaven.'’ I wanted that look again,” Manson explains. “I want to look at Twiggy and go ‘Holy shit, we wrote ‘The Beautiful People.’ I called him and I said ‘Let’s go do this.’” Plus, the duo had some unfinished business. “We started music together because we wanted to bring about the apocalypse, and we realized we didn’t finish,” Manson says. “The world could suffer much more if we were together again, and we really wanted to bring back the suffering.” With Twiggy back in the fold after departing over creative differences after 2000’s Holy Wood, how would this effect Manson’s “Rape of the World” tour, set to launch in a week? “We’re still gonna play some new songs,” says Manson, “but I think we’re excited to play some stuff that we haven’t done in a long time. I don’t think it ever felt as right without him.” While Manson is eager to return to working on his film Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll, he promises that his reunion with Twiggy will eventually result in a new album. “The concept originally of he and I getting back together was ‘Let’s write some music together,’ ” says Manson. “But life’s too short, and this has to happen now because we couldn’t stand not being on stage with each other, and wouldn’t want to wait until we made another record to tour. So this tour will spawn another record, one hundred percent.” IRON MAIDEN: LIMITED-EDITION PINT GLASS GIVEN AWAY WITH 'LIVE AFTER DEATH' PRE-ORDERS If you pre-order the new IRON MAIDEN DVD "Live after Death" from Newbury Comics, you will receive a limited-edition pint glass from the "Newbury Comics Artist Pint Glass Series."
